Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy here at Movement Theory keeps the ‘fascial web’ in mind; meaning the whole body is interconnected. The therapists are trained in the three step process of assessment, education for home exercise and long term management strategies for prevention.
Cupping

Cupping is an alternative form of medicine dating back to ancient times. The unique vacuum sensation creates a myofascial release (easing the tension between the muscle and connective tissues) increasing circulation and blood flow to the area overall helping to reduce muscle pain and soreness, speeding up recovery.
Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique that uses thin needles applied to an affected muscle with identified trigger points. It aims to elicit an involuntary contraction of the muscle. This in turn decreases muscle tightness, increases range of motion and reduces pain.
Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a technique that uses acoustic waves to stimulate your body’s natural healing processes to promote tissue regeneration.
It is a non-invasive treatment that is often used for stubborn problems such as plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow.
VALD Strength Testing

We use this tool to measure strength and range of motion. It is great for identifying areas of weakness or muscle asymmetries. This helps us guide our treatment decisions and to help tailor your exercise program exclusively to you. It gives us an exact starting point in which we can work from, allowing us to track your progress as we go.
Vertigo

Vertigo is caused by the crystals in the inner ear being displaced, with common symptoms being dizziness and nausea. Physiotherapy can help with neck pain and stabilisation.
TMJ

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction is a compromised movement of the jaw joint which leads to pain and discomfort felt in the face and/or neck. Our physiotherapists can approach this issue with a personalised assessment and treatment to improve symptoms and day to day life.
Normatec Compression Therapy

Whether you’re an athlete and pushing your limits or recovering from an injury, the Normatec can help those who are seeking enhanced blood flow and circulation, to reduce muscle tightness and swelling and to speed up recovery.
Rehab Gym

Our rehab gym is equipped with clinical reformer pilates machines, weights and cable machines to enhance strength and mobility.

Parking

Parking is located at the back of the building with plenty of spots dedicated to 501 for Movement Theory. Otherwise, there is plenty of 2hr street parking around.

Payments

We happily take both cash and card when paying for your appointment. HICAPS is also available at the front desk which you can claim your health fund through where it processes quickly and efficiently. Each private health insurance claims different amounts depending on the fund, cover and appointment.

Cancellation Notice

We require 24hrs notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancelling your appointment in less than 24 hours or not showing up may incur a fee at our discretion. Please give ample notice and reply to the text sent the day prior to your scheduled appointment.
