MOVEMENT THEORY.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Physiotherapy

At Movement Theory, we take an innovative approach to our Physiotherapy intervention. We understand that the body works through an interconnected system called the “Fascial Web” which means that the whole body is linked & interconnected. This is why we take a true “Holistic” approach when managing aches and pains.

Movement Theory therapists are trained to utilise a thorough 3 step process to improve range of motion, decrease pain & strengthen the body to provide long term resilience.

Step 1: involves a thorough assessment that delves into the reasons why the client has presented to the clinic in the first place; discussion regarding potential factors influencing pain & discomfort such as overtraining, postural adaptations, decreased strength, stress, poor sleep etc. Movement Theory therapists can then utilise manual therapy techniques such as Cupping, Dry Needling & Myofascial release to “Put out the fire” by decreasing pain & improving mobility.

Step 2: involves education & guidance through an assisted home exercise program, utilising our video based exercise prescription app called “Physiapp”. Early stages of the program will look to improve mobility, ROM & develop daily movement habits.

Step 3: looks at long term management strategies for ‘prevention’ & reducing the need to come back into the clinic. This is a tailored approach that works closely with our clients goals and other environmental & physical factors. We also look further into the clients health & well-being, and discuss the “4 pillars of health” Sleep, Stress Management & Mindfulness, Nutrition & Hydration and Movement.

  • Movement

Movement is in our name, so what does movement mean to us?

We are passionate about getting our clients back to doing the things they love, which can involve various steps in the movement spectrum.

    • Do our clients have the adequate range of motion to complete the tasks they require?

    • Do our clients have the adequate strength to complete the tasks they require?

    • Do our clients have compensatory movement habits they have lived with for years since they had significant trauma?

All of these are assessed in depth so we can devise an appropriate movement strategy for our clients. We work closely with personal trainers, strength & conditioning coaches, exercise physiologists and other allied health professionals to ensure we are all working towards a common goal.

At Movement Theory we provide an onsite Rehab Gym; equiped with Reformer Pilates, Weights & Functional Cable Machine.

This self-guided approach allows our current clients a chance to access all of our rehab services, whilst under our care.
